The strategy places particular emphasis on <strong>energy autonomy, technological leadership, security and defence, resilient infrastructure and global partnerships<\/strong>. The ministers\u2019 endorsement signals strong support for using the EIB\u2019s full financing capacity to strengthen Europe\u2019s economic security and competitiveness at a time of heightened geopolitical and investment pressure.<\/p>\n<p>The EIB also highlighted the progress made under its <strong>Strategic Roadmap 2024\/2027<\/strong>, whose mid-term report shows substantial advances across eight priority areas. These include <strong>climate action, digitalisation, security and defence, social and territorial cohesion<\/strong>, as well as support for <strong>Ukraine, enlargement countries and global partnerships<\/strong>. The report also underlines the Group\u2019s increased agility, stronger focus on innovation and greater willingness to take risk.<\/p>\n<p>In practical terms, the EIB points to strong delivery already achieved in <strong>2025<\/strong>, when the Group provided <strong>EUR 100 billion in financing<\/strong> and mobilised record investments in <strong>energy grids, transport, water, housing and Ukraine support<\/strong>. It also underlined progress in areas such as <strong>TechEU<\/strong>, energy efficiency for SMEs and investment in strategic sectors essential for Europe\u2019s long-term resilience and autonomy.<\/p>\n<p>Looking ahead, the EIB Group intends to further scale up investment in <strong>energy systems, artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure and critical supply chains<\/strong>, while continuing to mobilise private capital and improve efficiency.
