The Registry is expected to improve supply chain transparency, support circular economy objectives and facilitate regulatory compliance for businesses. Further information on the DPP Registry is available at this <a href=\"https:\/\/single-market-economy.ec.europa.eu\/single-market\/digital-product-passport\/dpp-registry_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">link<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Established under the <strong>Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation <\/strong>(<strong>\u201cESPR\u201c<\/strong>), a Digital Product Passport will serve as a <strong>digital container of product information throughout a product\u2019s lifecycle<\/strong>. The DPP Registry provides the secure infrastructure required to register unique product identifiers and related metadata, while product information itself remains stored in a decentralised manner.<\/p>\n<p>Starting with batteries early next year, the system will gradually cover a wide range of product groups, including <strong>textiles, steel, aluminium, tyres, furniture, ICT equipment and e-waste as well as construction products<\/strong>.
