The Act establishes the Czech framework for applying the EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation and introduces digital product passports (<strong>\u201cDPP\u201c<\/strong>) into Czech laws and Regulations. The wording of the adopted Act is available at this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.psp.cz\/sqw\/historie.sqw?o=10&amp;T=113\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">link<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Ministry of Industry and Trade serves as the single contact point.<\/strong> The Czech Office for Standards, Metrology and Testing handles the notification of conformity assessment bodies. Competent authorities supervise products within their respective areas of responsibility.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Manufacturers and importers must provide the required product information and digital instructions in Czech via DPP<\/strong>. Manufacturers must also provide the EU declaration of conformity in Czech. Before supplying a product, distributors must check that the required information and instructions are available in Czech.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Act defines offences and penalties for breaches of obligations<\/strong>, including those concerning DPP and unsold consumer products. Destroying certain unsold products may result in a fine of up to CZK 20 million.<\/p>\n<p>The draft Act will now be forwarded to the Senate of the Czech Republic as part of the legislative process.
