The Member States concerned have been given two months to respond and complete the transposition process; otherwise, the Commission may proceed to the next stage of the infringement procedure.<\/p>\n<p>For Czechia, the most significant issue concerns the Commission&#8217;s&nbsp;finding that the country has not yet <strong>fully transposed Directive (EU) 2024\/1711 on the reform of the EU electricity market<\/strong>, specifically the provisions relating to the <strong>free choice of electricity supplier and the right to energy sharing<\/strong>. Czechia is among the Member States that received a formal notice from the Commission. The directive is designed to strengthen consumers&#8217; position in the electricity market by facilitating supplier switching, improving access to competitive offers and enabling more active participation in the energy system through energy-sharing arrangements. <strong>Member States were required to transpose these provisions by 17 July 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in 2026, Czechia was also included among Member States that had not fully notified the transposition of <strong>Directive (EU) 2024\/825 on Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition<\/strong>. The directive aims to tackle greenwashing and improve consumer information regarding product durability, repairability and environmental performance.<\/p>\n<p>These actions demonstrate the European Commission&#8217;s&nbsp;continued focus on ensuring the <strong>timely and complete implementation of EU legislation<\/strong>.
