Among the selected initiatives are projects to restore natural habitats and protect endangered species, improve water and air quality, reduce flood and wildfire risks, develop nature-based carbon removal solutions, and advance innovative low-carbon technologies. Several projects will also support local authorities and communities in implementing sustainable energy investments and improving climate resilience.<\/p>\n
The announcement reflects growing interest in EU environmental funding. The 135 projects were selected from a record 1,095 applications<\/strong> submitted under the 2025 LIFE calls, while annual LIFE funding has increased by 9% compared to last year.
