On 24 March 2026, the European Commission confirmed that grant agreements were signed for 54 clean industry projects under the Innovation Fund. They are to unlock EUR 2.7 billion in funding to support large-scale deployment of net‑zero technologies. The supported projects span 17 countries and 17 industrial sectors, including refineries, cement production, manufacturing, renewable energy, and net‑zero mobility, reflecting the EU’s broad approach to industrial decarbonisation. Descriptions of Innovation Fund projects with which grant agreements have been concluded are available at this link.

Once operational, the projects are expected to avoid approximately 210 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions within their first ten years, demonstrating their significant contribution to EU climate targets and industrial transformation. In addition, further projects from the reserve list may be supported, highlighting the strong pipeline of innovative decarbonisation technologies and the key role of the Innovation Fund in accelerating Europe’s transition to climate neutrality.
