On 18 February 2026, Czech BCSD participated via its Vicepresident Petr Dovolil in the WBCSD’s “2026 Sustainability Outlook: Mobilising the Global Network for Regional Action“ webinar, a virtual event exploring the sustainability trends shaping business in 2026 („Webinar“). The Webinar included the contributions from business leaders and experts including Peter Bakker, WBCSD’s CEO and President, Ilham Kadri, CEO, Syensqo and WBCSD Chair, and members of WBCSD’s Senior Leadership Team and was structured to strengthen alignment, and spark collaboration and opportunities for engaging across the WBCSD Global Network.
The key message sounded in the Webinar was that the world was becoming less stable, less predictable and more constrained which would require a radical change in enhanced collabortion and agility across value chains, including the involvement of insurance industry regarding physical risk. Disrupting factors, represented in particular by geopolitical uncertainty, physical risk, AI and market fragmentation, leads to an urgent need of placed-based collaborative schemes. Therefore, WBCSD is to focus in 2026 on sustainability standards, in particular as part the current joint GHG Protocol & ISO standard review process, and the development of new instruments for business to faciliate functioning of such schemes. These efforts are to be driven by six WBCSD working groups: (1) Corporate Performance and Accountability, (2) Climate Action, (3) Nature Action, (4) Forest Solutions, (5) Agriculture & Food, and (6) People Action.
Czech BCSD organisation is part of WBCSD’s Global Network, a community of over 60 national business networks uniquely positioned to advance sustainability goals by bridging global ambitions with local priorities.
