On 10 July 2026, the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) announced the signing of grant agreements for 15 infrastructure projects supported under the second call of the Public Sector Loan Facility (PSLF). The selected projects received a combined EUR 134.9 million in EU funding to support a just transition towards a climate-neutral economy. Detailed descriptions of all supported projects are available on this page.

The PSLF represents the third pillar of the Just Transition Mechanism (JTM) and combines European Commission grants with loans from the European Investment Bank (EIB). Its purpose is to help public sector entities finance investments in regions most affected by the transition to climate neutrality while addressing their social, economic and environmental challenges.

Once again, Czech projects proved exceptionally successful. Of the total funding awarded, EUR 67.2 million was allocated to eight projects in Czechia, making the country the strongest performer among participating Member States. Supported initiatives include railway modernisation projects led by Správa železnic, upgrades to social infrastructure in Ústí nad Labem and the reconstruction of public leisure facilities in Kopřivnice.

The supported Czech railway projects include upgrades of rail tracks and stations across the Karlovy Vary, Moravian-Silesian and Ústí nad Labem regions, contributing to safer and more sustainable transport. Other investments target education, elderly care, urban mobility and energy-efficient public infrastructure, helping improve the quality of life in regions undergoing economic transformation.
