The project is led by the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU).

The objective of the InfraTaxonomy project is to develop a new methodological framework, Infrastructure Taxonomy Accounting (ITA), for digital infrastructure asset management. The management of extensive infrastructure assets increasingly depends on high-quality data, their interoperability, and their effective use in investment planning, asset management, asset lifecycle management, and decision-making processes.

The establishment of a unified methodological framework for digital infrastructure asset management has the potential to significantly improve data governance, enhance the efficiency of investment processes, increase transparency in decision-making, and support the long-term management of both public and private infrastructure assets.

Subject to the successful implementation of the project, Czech BCSD is interested in becoming acquainted with its outcomes and assessing the possibilities for their practical application. We anticipate that the project results may be particularly applicable in the following areas:

  • infrastructure asset management;
  • digitalization of technical documentation;
  • asset management;
  • investment planning;
  • asset lifecycle management;
  • data interoperability;
  • application of artificial intelligence methods in infrastructure management; and
  • support for strategic decision-making.
