On 3 June 2026, a new EU Innovation Platform was launched at the European Innovation Summit in Brussels. The platform was developed by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation as a single access point for innovators and startups looking for support to bring their ideas closer to market. More information is available here.

The new platform was created in the context of the EU Startup and Scaleup Strategy and contributes to the broader objective of building a better connected European innovation ecosystem. Its purpose is to make existing EU innovation support services and digital tools easier to navigate by bringing them together in one place through a more streamlined and user-friendly approach.

A key feature of the platform is its intelligent recommendation engine, which matches users with relevant services, events, news and funding opportunities based on their needs, sector, geographic location and maturity level. This should help innovators identify the most relevant EU-level support more efficiently and reduce fragmentation in the innovation support landscape.

For the time being, the EU Innovation Platform is aimed primarily at EU-funded innovators who already benefited from EU support and now want to successfully enter the market, create jobs and contribute to EU competitiveness. In the coming months, the platform is expected to open more widely to other innovation ecosystem participants, including business advisory services, investors and corporates.
