HOCHTIEF CZ’s roots in the Czech construction industry date back to 1939, when Jan Baťa established a construction division to build a factory in Sezimovo Ústí. After World War II, the company became the national enterprise Vodní stavby and grew into one of the most important construction contractors in Czechoslovakia, participating in major projects including the construction of the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant.
After 1989, the company underwent privatization, and in 1999 the international construction group HOCHTIEF became its majority shareholder. The integration process was completed in 2002, creating a strong construction company prepared to operate in the European market. In 2006, the company adopted the name HOCHTIEF CZ.
Today, HOCHTIEF CZ is part of one of the world’s leading construction groups with more than 150 years of history, specializing in complex infrastructure projects worldwide.
We are pleased to welcome HOCHTIEF CZ as a new member of Czech BCSD and look forward to collaborating on sustainable construction and infrastructure development.
The HOCHTIEF Group supports international exchange of expertise and employees at all professional levels. Principles of sustainable business are an integral part of the Group’s strategy and are given the highest priority. Compliance also plays an equally important role in the Group’s operations.
