As part of the project “Engagement of Business in Nature Restoration,” a grant application was submitted to the Ministry of the Environment in collaboration with WWF Czech Republic, the Center for Environmental Studies at Charles University (COŽP), and DHP Conservation.

The LIFE Business project aims to mobilize Czech companies as active and responsible actors in fulfilling the objectives of the Nature Restoration Regulation (NRR) and the relevant National Nature Restoration Plans. The project takes a systematic approach to engaging the private sector—at the level of individual companies—and builds their internal capacity to understand their own impacts on and dependencies on nature. A key tool of the project is the NatureRestore Toolkit—an innovative methodology for assessing corporate impacts, risks, and opportunities in relation to nature, calibrated for the conditions of the Czech and Central European economies and directly applicable for CSRD ESRS E4 reporting. The methodology is being validated through a structured, four-level cohort program of corporate engagement, the results of which are independently monitored and documented as case studies for replication in Central and Eastern European countries.

We will keep you informed of the Ministry of the Environment’s position.
