In 2015, the WBCSD will use its Action2020 framework to deliver the Road to Paris and Beyond, which includes:
- a Low Carbon Technology Partnerships Initiative (LCTPi) with the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) and the International Energy Agency (IEA),
- a series of business government dialogues with WBCSD Global Network partners in France, Brazil and India.
Launched at COP20 Lima, the Road to Paris and Beyond is a robust business-led contribution to the UNFCCC negotiations and is now officially endorsed by the French Presidency of COP21 and the UNSG.
The Business and Climate Summit on 20-21 May 2015 in Paris, organized by the WBCSD and its partners EPE and Global Compact France, will be one of the cornerstone events of the Paris Climate Week. |

World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2015 |
Climate and sustainable development took center stage at Davos this year. It was agreed that success in both agendas required significant investments from both the public and private sectors. The UNSG called upon the CEOs to be carbon pricing champions, set science-based targets and make sustainability part of the corporate mandate. Sharing a common narrative and reaching an agreement on the key priorities among the different actors will be critical in driving concrete action. WBCSD was represented in the official program in several capacities and hosted two high-level side events on Business Action on the SDGs and Developing a Social Capital Protocol for Business respectively. |
